G4 star Jonathan Ansell, has landed a £1 million solo deal with Universal Records.

The former X factor star spilt from the rest of the classical group, G4 in the summer. He obviously had other plans….

Ansell said of the contract: “I’m incredibly excited to be signing to Universal, and thrilled to be pursuing a solo career.

“It’s been an amazing journey to this point and I think, at the start of this new chapter in my career, anything is possible. Three years ago I was at music college and I went on The X Factor with some mates for a bit of fun, and now I’ve got my own deal.

“I never, ever expected to be able to do an album with anybody, let alone on my own. I just wanted to be able to earn my living as a singer in whatever way. So I’m completely blown away.”

Former X Factor finalist Chico Slimani has revealed that he was inspired to write his new song, Curvy Cola Bottle Body, after he heard a bunch of young schoolgirls talking about their desire to be thinner.

The singer told Sky Showbiz: “I went on the net and started going into it, and there are models dying, people starving, so I didn’t want to concentrate on the problem. I wanted to concentrate on the solution, so size-zero’s gotta go.

Dannii has hand picked a song for each of the boys and along with music writer and producer Terry Roland, who has worked with Girl’s Aloud, Westlife and our very own Dannii Minogue, they will have the hard task of picking just three from the six boys to go through to the live shows. Jubilant with the category she was given at Bootcamp Dannii is confident she has a potential winner within the six, “I know what I’m looking for” says Dannii, “But I don’t know which one will pull it out of the bag today. X Factor judge, Dannii Minogue has revealed that her colleague and boss, Simon Cowell recently asked her to accompany him to a strip club.

She told Closer: “He’s fond of the odd strip joint and he suggested we go together. I was like ‘I don’t think so.’

X Factor winner Leona Lewis has revealed that she will be buying her first home later this year. It won’t be in the UK, but in LA where she will spend next year promoting her new album.

“We are promoting the album in the UK, then in America. So I want to buy a place in Santa Monica,” Lewis told the Sunday Mirror. “I love being by the beach and the Pacific Ocean.

“When I first moved out there I was really missing my family and my boyfriend. But my dream now would be to live in California in the winter and here in the summer. I’m going to buy a house there first. And maybe one in London later.”

In tonight’s X factor bootcamp show, 38 year old primary school teacher Beverley Trotman, manages to bring out the soft side of Dermot O’Leary!

As Beverley explains why she is here, her emotional story has Dermot in tears. “If I can be that little bit of inspiration for them, on that stage, children who think that they are nothing, children whose parents who haven’t been there for them or maybe children who’ve had both parents. For them to see me try my best , to put everything into it – that’s more than enough for me”.

But it’s not enough for Mr Nasty himself, Simon Cowell, who tells Beverley that he wouldn’t have chosen that song… will Dermot and Beverley be in tears again?

Jamelia seems to think that if she slags off enough people in the press people will rush out to buy her records. It may work for Lily Allen but I’m not sure that Jamelia is going to have the same success.

Bitchy singer, Jamelia, has once again turned her vapid tongue to X Factor winner Leona Lewis in her latest attack.

She told The Sun: “When Simon stops all this stupid hype about her, that’s when we’ll see if she can deliver. Like every artist Simon has, she’ll fade into obscurity eventually.”

Jamelia added: “Only Will Young has been successful, and that was because he’s talented and cut ties with Simon. Leona is a poor man’s Mariah Carey.

“Simon’s lost it. He is disrespectful. Leona may be talented, but she’s not worked as hard as me or others in the industry - fact!”

Westlife are hoping that a TV programme showcasing their new album and single, scheduled to air right before the X factor Saturday night show will help boost their newest record.

The boys haven’t had a chart hit in almost a year and the first airing of their new single ‘Home’ was as backing music to an X Factor audition show. They are hoping that their upcoming Saturday night show will be watched by millions of X Factor fans that will help push them up the charts.

A source said: “It will be a Saturday night type of show so it’d be great to run it before the semi-final or final of X Factor as the ratings have been so good.” Read more & comment »

Former X Factor finalist, Ben Mills has revealed that he has turned down the chance to appear on this years X Factor show.

Ben said: “I’m still in touch with people who work on X Factor. They have been in touch and said do you wanna come on and do some stuff. Former X Factor winner Shayne Ward has reportedly agreed to appear in a fashion show organised by Supermodel Naomi Campbell.

The pair were introduced recently bu Fugees star Wyclef Jean and hit it off immediately.

A source told The Sun: “Naomi and Shayne got on like a house on fire at will.I.am’s gig. They got on so well that she has asked him if he would model in the show she is organising for Mandela. He jumped at the chance.” Read more & comment »
