The Apprentice 2009: Majid Nagra Gets Fired!

Two boys down, five to go! This has to be the year a woman wins BBC’s Apprentice.
Majid Nagra has become the third person to be sacked by Sir Alan Sugar during the latest Apprentice series. The 28-year-old found himself in the boardroom along with Ben Clarke and James McQuillan after the boys’ team lost a task of creating fitness equipment.
Nagra’s Empire team gained only 500 orders from buyers, whilst Debra Barr led the girls’ Ignite team to victory, with 10,180 orders for their re-designed exercise ball.
Sir Alan told Majid: “General feeling amongst my two colleagues here is that you just hang around on the periphery and don’t actually do anything.”
He added: “My instincts are that I can’t really have someone that is perceived not to contribute and you may not agree with this but Maj – you’re fired!”
After being fired, Nagra defended himself, blaming James for the team’s failure.
“I feel like Sir Alan didn’t get to see the best of me and I just think he got rid of the wrong person,” he said. “James has been in the firing line twice, he’s failed twice and he’s still in there fighting for a job with Sir Alan.”
