The Apprentice: Katie Hopkins Gets Fired From Another Job

Katie Hopkins sensationally pulled out of the race to become Sir Alan Sugar’s next Apprentice as part of the BBC reality TV show.

Katie was already employed in a £100,000 a year job and many questioned her motives for applying for The Apprentice when the money would remain the same.

However, after giving up on her chance to work with Alan Sugar, Katie has now found herself unemployed after being sacked from her role in the Met Office this week.

A spokesman for the Met Office told the Daily Mail: “Katie was informed that we were terminating her period of probation with us.

“Although the probationary period is normally one year and Katie joined us in September 2006, we have the right to terminate her employment at any time during that period.

“In making this decision we would look at work performance, time keeping and conduct and review how a prospective employee is capable of achieving and maintaining an acceptable standard in all these areas.

“We decided that in this case Katie did not meet those standards and her employment was terminated.

Well, frankly - she had it coming - she’s hardly made herself popular out of all of this (to wit the skit blog ). Nonetheless, she must be making a packet from her ‘paper deals, so I doubt she cares…!

I think she bigged up her background bug time - i.e. lied. Don’t the BBC actually check up on the CVs?
What is a 90K pa jet-setting man-eating management consultant doing working for the sleepy Met Office in Exeter? I also see the Met Office has said she didn’t earn 90K!
    1) A partner in a top management consultancy will be earning much more than 90K - when I left consultancy about 5 years ago, base partner pay was about 175-200K, not including performance bonus. So 500-750K was achievable…
    2) Er, I didn’t realise the Met Office was an international management consultancy
    3) Top management consultancies tend to be based in central London and not Exeter
