Apprentice bosses have confirmed that they called in a psychologist for Apprentice contestant Sara Dhada after she was verbally attacked by her fellow hopefuls.

Footage that aired a few weeks ago, of the group ganging up on Sara and loudly questioning her contributions to the tasks, sparked a number of complaints to the BBC, and in reponse to one such complaint the BBC replied:

“The pressure on the candidates is immense and there are times when emotions overflow. There is a specifically designated team in the house to offer support to the candidates and to step in if it is deemed necessary.

“There is also a psychologist on call. On this occasion, a discussion was had with Sara, and although she was upset she wanted to continue. She and the candidates involved resolved things themselves.”
