The One And Only With Graham Norton - BBC One
Tonight on BBC One Graham Norton will host an exciting new Saturday night entertainment show which spotlights the UK’s leading tribute acts as they battle it out to win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity – a three-month performing contract in Las Vegas with the renowned Legends In Concert, one of the world’s longest-running celebrity impersonator shows.
Imagine the glamour and glitz of swinging Sinatra doing big-band battle with the undisputed princess of pop, Kylie, or the timeless Sir Elton John fighting it out against sexy chanteuse Cher in a bid to take the tribute act crown. Performers must not just sing like a musical superstar, but they must also look like them, dress like them and act like them.
Ohhhh it sounds too camp to be real!

Much as I absolutely love any talent related reality show - X factor/joseph/maria etc. etc. etc., did anyone else not quite get the joke of ‘the one and only’? After many happy years of marvelling at the fabulous ‘Stars in their eyes’ where - yes, some were fairly hideous, but some were really very good … and at least they were all, in one way or another, pretty entertaining. Well after the first 4 or 5 acts yesterday, my friend and I turned to each other and asked - ‘are we missing the joke?’ Unfortunately not. I have been looking forward to this show for weeks, but looks like my Saturdays nights will be looking pretty bleak for the next 6 weeks. (Where DID they do the auditions for this? I can’t believe that Las Vegas is ready for any of this shower!) How embarassing!

I thought it was awful and no way wanted to watch the 2nd show last night. To think that this is on instead of Strictly Dance Fever!!!

My friend is actually going into the live finals, i wont say who as i dont want to embarrass her by naming her. I agree, the set is very basic and it felt like a cheap imitation of a talent show. I am hoping the sets for the live shows are better! What is the prize? My friend, has always wanted to sing, she has been done it professionally and i cant help in thinking that this is not really what she wants.. Shes better than this.

what the hell is this?
…This what british tv has been reduced to? This is utterly pathetic. i got forced to watch some of it tonight and it made me what to slit my writs. The whole show is completly retarded. not one person on it has any talent what-so-ever, serously, this is beyond bad.
Who would waste money on this if you wasnt family? i’m surprised the origanl people don’t sue for defamation of character. Even though this is ‘reality’ tv you can eaisly tell that the contestants have scripts to read, this is poorly directed, cheap and tacky.

Who ever told these people they sounded or looked like the real thing? Mr Norton, get back to real tv, youve made a big mistake with this joke of a show. God I wish Saturday night tv would return………

Hi
It’s an impossiblity to be exactly like any original performer.
It’s easy looking at these acts and making judgements.
They do OK I think.
I was meant to have been one of the Sinatra act judges and auditioned for it at Endimol Shepherds Bush a few months ago.
There you go.
Barry Watson.
