James 'Diags' Bennewith - The Only Way Is Essex series 4

Joey Essex has recruited one of his best pals for the new series of The Only Way is Essex and the new star is hoping the show will help him improve his love life.

James ‘Diags’ Bennewith will join the ITV2 reality TV show for it’s fourth run, when it returns later this year and he told The Sun that he’s had enough of being Joey’s wing man and now wants to strike out on his own.

The 20 year old told the newspaper:

‘I know I’m not the best-looking lad but if I had Joey’s looks with my chat, I’d be unstoppable.’

After the departure of Mark Wright – who left to appear in I’m A Celebrity – along with Kirk Norcross and Amy Childs who jumped ship for Celebrity Big Brother, TOWIE producers decided to give the cast a bit of an overhaul. They sacked Maria Fowler and Harry Derbidge and are planning to bring on up to twelve new stars.

Also joining the show on a regular basis will be 24 year old Cara Kilbey and her pal, salon worker Billi Mucklow, Georgina Dorsett and Ricky Rayment, who bosses have explained will be:

‘Confident but not cocky, loves a flirt and always friendly with everyone’

Sam Faiers was reportedly being considered for the chop, but was granted a last minute reprieve when she persuaded her boyfriend TJ to join the cast. Old favourites James ‘Arg’ Argent, Lydia Bright, Lauren Pope, Mario Falcone, Joey Essex and Lucy MeckLenburgh will also be returning.

The Only Way Is Essex returns for it’s fourth series, this Sunday night, on ITV2. Will you be tuning in?
