Sam Faiers has claimed that she and Mark Wright will “always have a soft spot” for each other.

The Only Way Is Essex star said that despite the nightclub promoter recently proposing to his on/off/girlfriend Lauren Goodger, she thinks they will always share a special bond.

She told new! magazine: “There’s always going to be a soft spot there and I think he’ll have one for me as well, but life goes on, doesn’t it? But, as soon as I find The One, I won’t dwell on Mark.”

Sam went on to claim that while she wasn’t shocked by Mark’s engagement, she does think Lauren should have turned him down because he can’t be trusted.

She explained: “I wasn’t gobsmacked, but I was a bit like, ‘Woah!’ If it was me, I’d hate the feeling that I had to get engaged just so that I could trust someone. Putting a ring on someone’s finger doesn’t mean that you’re going to be able to trust them and Mark’s only doing it so that she trusts him. If it had been me, I’d have said no. You want to feel that trust before you get engaged.”
