The star wants to branch out and take on a number of other TV projects aside from just appearing on TOWIE.
Speaking to OK! Magaizine, Essex said: “Me and my manager are in talks to do my own TV projects which I’m really excited about
“I’m contracted to TOWIE for the time being, so I wouldn’t quit, but we’ll have to wait and see”.
If his statement to OK! Is anything to go by, it looks like Joey is wanting to leave TOWIE altogether. The only thing holding him back at the moment is that he’s contractually obliged to appear.
Essex first appeared on TOWIE during its second series on ITV2 before being made a member of the main cast for the third series.
He went on to say that his split with co-star Sam Faiers will not change things on the show. Of course, Joey and Sam were planning on getting married after Joey abruptly proposed to her. But, it all went pear shaped and the duo split during last series.
He said: “Obviously it’s going to be different for me because I’m not with Sam anymore, but it will pretty much be the same.
“I’m Joey Essex, everyone is the same characters and everyone has their own storylines”.
Amy Childs went on to appear in her own reality TV show following her success on Celebrity Big Brother last year, but it flopped big time and was pulled before you could say “Hunnehhh”.
The Only Way Is Essex is set to return with two one-hour Las Vegas specials next month on ITV2.
