Girls Aloud support act Kirsten Joy set to shine on The Voice Uk
Kirsten Joy is hoping to find fame on The Voice, after finding herself on the periphery and the brink of fame and musical recognition in recent years.
The brunette beauty tried out for the BBC show in London earlier this year, and made her best attempt to impress celebrity coaches Jessie J, Will.i.am, Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue at the blind auditions.
The experienced singer has plenty of industry experience. She is one of the lead vocalists in the acclaimed ACM Gospel Choir, who reached the semi-finals of the BBC Last Choir Standing in 2008.
Kirsten has also spent a lot of time working as a backing singer and once sang with Kylie Minogue. She also performed as a warm-up act for Girls Aloud and Lemar at Kent Music Festival. More recently, she has performed as one of the cast members of THE GO!GO!GO! SHOW, a family pop musical featuring five stars of stage, screen and pop. The touring show is produced by Mike Stock (of Stock, Aiken and Waterman fame) and all the dance routines are choreographed by Paul Domaine, choreographer for The Saturdays, Sugababes, Dannii Minogue and lots of BBC shows.
Her other TV credits include ITV’s “Britain Sings Christmas”, ITV’s ‘Britain Sings Christmas’ 2008, GMTV (singing with David & Carrie Grant and other celebrities), ITV’s ‘Ultimate Movie Toons’ (backing Michael Ball) 2010 and the Eurovision song contest 2010, where she sanh backing vocals in Oslo.
It is expected that Kirsten’s audition will be seen on the new BBC show within the next few weeks, before the series moves into it’s Battle Round stage.
It is not yet known if any of the coaches turned to offer Joy a place in their team, however she does seem to be keeping close links with some of her fellow contestants, and after the launch show aired last Saturday, the talented songstress tweeted:
BIG up to super talented @J_MarieCooper @BenKellyMusic and everyone else who got through #TheVoiceUK tonight- A-maaaaazing!! #realtalent
