Joss Stone didn’t want to coach on The Voice
Joss Stone has revealed that she turned down the chance to coach hopefuls on The Voice.
The British soul singer was reportedly approached to join the lineup of the BBC reality TV show before it launched earlier this year, but declined the offer.
Jessie J, Danny O’Donoghue, Tom Jones and Will.i.am eventually formed the panel but the 25 year old star revealed that she could have had one of their seats had she been interested.
Speaking to the Daily Express, Joss said: “I was approached for The Voice in Britain but I don’t think so.”
She continued: “The thing is I love music and I love singing with other people and I don’t see it as a competition at all.
“I feel that those things are really good to get exposure but they kind of make it into a competition and that is just sad.
“Other than that it is great because they get to be heard by millions and they never would have been before.”
We are kind of glad that Joss did turn down the role, as we don’t know how long we could have listened to her strange hybrid accent without throwing a brick through our TV screen!
Bosses are already said to be looking for new stars to feature in the 2013 series of the show, after it was revealed that Jessie J will not be back for a second run.
The Script frontman Danny will return, as will Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am, while Welsh legend Jones is reportedly considering his options.
