The Voice 2012 Results: Who was voted off? Frances Wood, Joelle Moses, Adam Isaac and Matt & Sueleen!
The Voice UK continued this weekend and on last night’s show, the artists sang live to survive as not one but two artists from both competing teams were eliminated from the competition.
The four remaining artists on TEAM TOM (Adam Isaac, Leanne Mitchell, Matt & Sueleen and Ruth Brown) and TEAM WILL (Joelle Moses, Frances Wood, Jaz Ellington and Tyler James) took to the stage in a bid to impress the coaches and the viewers at home. Both teams also took to the stage and performed with their coach for the very first time.
Team Danny and Team Jessie J got a bit of a reprieve, and all eight acts working with The Script star and the ‘Domino’ hitmaker will return to the stage next Saturday evening.
On tonight’s results show, one artist on each team was safe, based on who attracted the most public votes. Then, Will and Tom had to decide which one of the three artists remaining to save, sending the remaining two home.
From Team Tom, Ruth Brown was safe after the public vote, leaving Tom to decide between Adam Isaac, Leanne Mitchell, or Matt & Sueleen. Deliberating over his choice he said:
“Well, Adam was great , he’s done everything I’ve asked him to do and more. The same thing with Matt & Sueleen – they’ve done everything I’ve asked them to do and even more, their harmonies were fantastic. And then of course, Leanne Mitchell with that voice. But I must say this, I must say this – you must take this as an experience, and go away stronger than you were when you first stepped in. Based on Saturday’s performances, I must go with Leanne Mitchell”
Leanne Mitchell went through to the semi final, and Adam Isaac and Matt & Sueleen left the competition.
From Team Will, Jaz Ellington was safe based on the results of the public vote. Will had to choose between Frances Wood, Joelle Moses or Tyler James.
He mused:
“Well this is a hard one, I knew coming in here it was going to be a hard decision. I ran through every single scenario, ‘what would happen if x was picked, z was picked’. Last nights performance, Frances you knocked it out of the box. It was really, really fresh – I was proud of you. Joelle, you were fantastic. Powerful. We struggled on song choice – but I think the collaboration between me, you and Dante – we figured it out, and that was a great performance and selection. Tyler, great smooth control, Mr Cool. It was just fantastic – I was proud of everybody… But, I’m preparing for battle, because I’m going up against Jessie, Tom and Danny, and I need somebody that is given any scenario and comes through with flying colours and goes in within himself and comes out still smooth and cool – and that’s Tyler. ”
Tyler James went through to the semi final, and Joelle Moses and Frances Wood left the competition.
That leave Jaz Ellington and Tyler James in Team Will, Ruth Brown and Leanne Mitchell in Team Tom.
The Voice UK returns next Saturday 19th May at 18.30 on BBC One.
Next week Team Danny and Team Jessie take to the stage – and TWO people from either team will be eliminated. Both coaches will take to the stage with their teams for a special group performance.

So we have the results Jaz from team will went though on the public vote while frances joelle and tyler face the coaches verdit on who to keep in this case it was tyler
While I’m not surprised with the outcome, I was absolutely certain that Jaz and Ruth would top the votes. I am very disappointed for Joelle Moses, she is a very strong performer and deserving of a breakthrough.
Will, I hope you make good on your promise, I look forward to a Will.I.am produced single and album from Joelle Moses in the very near future. I will be at the front of the queue for a ticket to her first concwert!
All of them are great but Will choose the strong guys.
i am very disappointed for Frances Wood , but i think she is going to be a singer along with Joelle Moses.
Jaz will get the music lovers’ votes, Ruth will get the sympathy votes, but sympathy votes on talent shows do not turn into album sales and concert bookings. Problem: Jaz could end up working wherever will.i.am wants him to work, and that would be where there’s the most money, so the USA…
All the other contestants need to do well on The Voice to make a name for themselves, Jaz’s future is already assured. As for Jaz making his name it’s plain serendipity, he’s got that one really covered.
Sympathy vote? What are you on? Ruth won through because she is the most amazing singer and has an amazing career ahead of her.
She certainly brings emotion to her performances, admiration and awe!
