The Voice 2012: Will.i.am joins Frances Wood, Jaz Ellington, Joelle Moses, Tyler James plays piano in group performance (VIDEO)
It was revealed by BBC bosses last week that team coaches Will.i.am and Tom Jones would be joining their contestants for a group performance on stage tonight and we have to admit, it definitely raised the level of excitement for us here at Unreality TV.
We love the unpredictability of these performances and the fact that that these live ensembles can turn into TV gold, or a total car crash and we never know which it will be, before tuning in. It’s impossible to predict!
This evening Black Eyed Peas star Will joined Frances Wood, Jaz Ellington, Joelle Moses and Tyler James for a mashup of ‘Golddigger’ and Ray Charles’ legendary song ‘I’ve Got A Woman.’ The whole routine has a phenomenal bounce to it, with all of the singers in Will’s group getting a fair shot in the limelight. Remember how I complained about Tom’s group looking like backing singers? Well praise to Will for showcasing his acts properly.
He even played piano for the group, a skill we didn’t know he possessed!
The performance wasn’t without its flaws though – Everyone had a few vocal wobbles, Will included. But we’ve heard his Black Eyed Peas live performances, so it wasn’t much of a surprise! Still, I was impressed that Will shared the spotlight and gave his singers a chance to show another dimension to the audience. Though I think we’re all agreed that The Voice’s live shows need to get a bit slicker, right?
