The Voice 2013: After Will.i.am criticizes Leanne Mitchell on last night’s show, she takes to Twitter to say it was an “unfair comment!”
The Voice coach Will.i.am has frequently criticized last year’s winner Leanne Mitchell, and has made no secret of the fact that in his opinion, her fellow finalist Tyler James was a far more worthy winner…
However, he took his condemnation of Leanne to a new level when, during last night’s live semi-final, he remarked, “We know who won last year and didn’t make it to the top ten…”
He made the comment while praising this year’s finalist Leah McFall, who he has of course been mentoring this year.
Of her, he said, “It’s very rare you come across true talented singers.
“[Leah] wants to accomplish and be a part of this industry.”
Meanwhile, Leanne took to Twitter to complain at Will’s remark.
She said, “Slightly unfair comment there from @iamwill..so much is out of my control, u should know…
“Remember, I never asked to win, I just sang x”
She then tweeted a link to her self-new album on iTunes and added, “Listen/download and decide for yourselves :)xx”
Leah is of course joined in next weekend’s finals by Andrea Begley, Mike Ward and Matt Henry, though as we reported earlier, bookies Ladbrokes reckon Leah is “unbeatable” in the contest.
Here’s a reminder of Leah on last night’s show…
