The Voice 2013: Coach Will.i.am says “On the day of the last show I knew I wanted to come back!”
Fans of The Voice will of course know that the show is back on the BBC next Saturday at 7pm for its second series…
And today, coach Will.i.am has revealed that he had no hesitation in signing up for the new series, unlike his fellow coach Jessie J, who was the last of the four coaches – the other two are of course Danny O’Donoghue and Sir Tom Jones – to sign up for series two.
Speaking to Bang Showbiz, Will said, “The fact is the first two people who said they were coming back were me and Danny. I didn’t wait…
“After the last taping I was like, ‘So what are you going to do next year? Are you going to do it again?’
“He was like, ‘Hell yeah.’ And I was like, ‘Me too.’
“On the day of the last show I knew I wanted to come back.”
However, he did confess that he might have “questioned” his decision had Jessie or Danny declined a second series.
He said, “I had reservations but I didn’t wait…
“Say for example Jessie wasn’t going to come back then I was like, ‘I don’t know if I want to come back.’
“Or Danny didn’t want to come back then it would’ve changed.
“But when everybody said they wanted to come back it made it easier for me.”
Are you glad all four original coaches are back for series two? Or would you have preferred to see new coaches this year?
For now, here’s a look at the show’s 2013 trailer…
