We reported recently that apparently, some of the finalists on this year’s The Voice had been complaining that the coaches, will.i.am, Jessie J, Sir Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue felt “abandoned” by their mentors who were “more interested in their own careers.”

However, The Script front man Danny has hit back at those claims, saying that he spends more time with the singers on his team than he does with his own family!

Taking to Twitter, angry Danny wrote, “Ever heard of Skype, Internet and mobile phones. Your never far away.

“I’ve spent more time with teamdanny then I have my family #dedication” (sic)

He is of course currently touring in Australia, and in a somewhat confusing further Twitter post, he implied he’d taken some of his Team Danny acts with him!

He wrote, “I had members of my team, most dates on the stage with me , singing songs during soundchecks and learning the ropes backstage #thatscoaching”

Danny and the rest of his The Script band mates are due back in the UK at the end of next week, and of course, all the coaches are expected to be in London within the next couple of weeks ahead of the live shows.

Here’s a reminder of last night’s second outing of The Voice UK…

If the acts want to be mentored by people who are currently working in the industry then they have to accept that they are juggling other commitments. Danny’s right there are Ma y ways for him to keep in touch with his acts and they also have to take responsibility for their performance rehearsals etc. They are there to mentor not hold the acts hands 24 hours a day
