Jessie J has revealed that she was so happy when she watched the first episode of The Voice recently.
The ‘Domino’ hitmaker retured to the BBC show for a second series and earlier this year she, Danny O’Donoghue, Will.iam and Tom Jones got together in the Beeb headquarters in Salford to record the 2013 blind auditions.
They filmed the tryouts, the battle rounds, the steal and the knockouts and later this month the show will finally return to our screens.
Yesterday Unreality TV got a sneak preview of the series at the London press launch and speaking on the red carpet Jessie admitted that she ‘couldn’t stop grinning’ as she watched back some of the talent they had seen.
“I couldn’t stop grinning, I was so proud of how far the show has come. We’ve learned from last series, we’ve become more confident in each other and how we talk to each other. The talent is out of this world this year.”
Jessie already has her team whittled down to just three hopefuls, that she will take forward to the live shows later in the year. She is keen to mentor and coach them to the best of her ability and confessed:
“It’s exciting to be part of something that really celebrates singers.”
The Voice hasn’t just retained it’s whole judging panel, but it’s kept the same presenters too – which is relatively unheard of in the land of reality TV – and both Reggie Yates and Holly Willoughby will front the show again this year.
Yates promised fans that the new run will be even better than the first and he thinks the coaches have gotten even more competitive than ever.
“Series 2 definitely feels like it’s moved on a bit, because we did so well in the first year. This time around it’s great because not only are the coaches more competitive but things have changed.”
The changes he mentions include less live shows, more battle rounds, more auditions and the chance for the coaches to steal each others acts.
