The Voice 2013: Jessie J warns her acts not to expect any mollycoddling, saying “I can’t hold their hand all the time as I have a career too!”
The Voice coach Jessie J is of course known not to be a fan of pussyfooting around, nor is she overly emotional most of the time…
However, she did shed a couple of tears during last year’s series, but while speaking to Metro’s Guilty Pleasures, Jessie has revealed that she’s going to be super tough this year, and won’t have any time to mollycoddle her acts.
She said, “I learnt a lot last year. This time around, I am making sure I make the best use of the time I have with my team…
“I am strict and I definitely have not been faffing around!
“I am always quite direct and straight to the point. I am honest and I think I am very caring towards the artists.”
But she added, “I will be there for my team this year as much as I can be [but] I can’t hold their hand all the time as I have a career too.
“They have to work and so do I.”
Jessie concluded, “I feel a lot more comfortable and a lot more relaxed second time around.
“I know what I am doing and I understand the format of the show more.”
But while teasing what lies ahead, Jessie said, “During the filming of the Battle Rounds, I was so shocked at some of the decisions made that I could not hide it in my face – and I said so.”
The Voice returns to the BBC on March 30th at 7pm, but for now, here’s a look at the show’s trailer…
