The Voice 2013: Jessie J & Will.i.am planning new albums very soon
Will.i.Am has confirmed that he will be releasing his new album within the month.
The Black Eyed Peas star will return to our screens in just a few weeks time for The Voice and he is planning to make the most of all that PR and publicity it seems.
In September 2013 the US rapper, singer and producer revealed that he would be holding back on releasing his new record #willpower after a theft of some of it’s tracks and leaking of a number of them online.
After the upsetting incident, Will tweeted:
“I’m trying to finish #willpower… & now because of all the leaks I have to push the album back to make new songs. I will give you updates soon.”
Finally the album is ready to go and Will confirmed that fans can expect to pick up a copy at the end of April 2013.
The ‘I Gotta Feeling’ hitmaker made his announcement on Twitter saying:
“1 month from now #willpower will be out in the world. I spent so much time searching & finding #willpower… its close its coming #cantwait.”
The new album will contain ‘Scream & Shout’, his chart topping duet with American Idol judge Britney Spears and the preceding single This Is Love, as well as T.H.E which features both Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger.
#willpower will have many more collaborations than that too and it’s been reported that he has drafted in stars such as Rihanna, Cheryl Cole, Justin Bieber and X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger for some brand new tracks.
Meanwhile, Will isn’t the only one to be taking advantage of the timing of The Voice, as Jessie J is also expected to announce the release date of her second album very soon.
On 31 January 2012, Jessie revealed that she had begun recording for her second studio album and at the beginning of last month she tweeted:
“”Completed 7 songs in the last 5 days for album 2! Waaaah #album 2,” Jessie tweeted today, while earlier in the week she posted: “I’m so tired! Yawning and trying to record a verse don’t go! Hahaha.””
She also revealed that she hopes to collaborate with many artists on the record and was confirmed that she has recorded in the studio with Cee-Lo Green after he messaged her on Twitter.
Jessie previously postponed her tour, so that she could finish work on her album and at the time told fans:
“I could do my UK tour in Feb but my album will not be out before hand so if I did new songs you wouldn’t know them…”
She continued, “I have personally moved it back to make sure you ALL get a BIGGER and BETTER show and will know the music I’m performing.
“My album is not finished and I am giving myself more time to finish it. I understand some of you are disappointed as am I.
She finished by saying, “Music and art cannot be rushed. I promise It will be worth the wait. Thank you for supporting me.”
