Leah McFall is spending her last day in LA today, as she prepares to come home and debut her new music for the first time.
The Belfast born singer lost out on the chance to land a Universal record deal when Andrea Begley beat her on The Voice last month but luckily for her, she has a supporter in the form of Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am.
The US rapper, singer and producer mentored Leah on the BBC show and while he was livid when she didn’t win, he responded by whisking her off to America to start work on new songs with him in the studio.
The pair have penned both ‘heart breaking’ and ‘hilarious’ tunes according to their Twitter updates and this week we’ll get to hear the results for the first time.
Both stars are heading back to London and Leah tweeted saying:
“Last day in LA 😢 this has been THEE most Incredible 2 weeks of my life thanks to @iamwill who hasnt stopped fighting for me&believing in me.”
She also shared a picture of herself in the recording studio with the caption:
“This has been my home for the past 2 weeks – 💗💗 @recordplant”
Producer Jean Baptiste has been in the studio with the pair and tweeted:
“@leahmcfallmusic is literally making one of the best albums I’ve heard in years!!!!
My mind was totally blown away in the studio yesterday by @iamwill
How can he still be so hungry? Very inspirational!!!”
Former Voice contestant Tyler James revealed that Will and Leah wanted to have their material finished, so they could perform some of it together at this weekend’s Wireless Festival. He told The Daily Star:
“She’s [Leah] been in LA recording with Will this week and the plan is to have a new song in time for the Wireless Festival in a few weeks’ time.”
Will.i.am has been added to the lineup and will perform on Pepsi Max Stage in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, on Sunday 14th July.
We can’t wait to hear their new tunes….can you? Leave your comments below….
