The Voice 2013: Tom Jones will ‘probably’ be back – was a big hit at V Festival

Tom Jones has confirmed that he will ‘probably’ return to The Voice later this year.

Auditions for the BBC series kick of later in 2012 and the Welsh singer is considering coming back for a second run, after he became the surprise winning coach when Leanne Mitchell sang her way to glory in June.

It has been claimed in recent months that the legendary performer had decided not to make a comeback and that he and Jessie J would be leaving the panel, with only Will.i.am and Danny O’Donoghue taking on a second series.

Speaking to NME Tom revealed that he’d like to join his other pals at the coaching table again, and explained:

“We’re talking about it now. The BBC would like me to do another one and I did have a lot of fun doing the first one.”

He added: “There are things that we need to change, things we know we can make better, but it looks like I’m going to do it. We haven’t rubber-stamped it yet.”

He also hinted that Jessie J hasn’t yet made a final decision on whether or not she is leaving, continuing:

“Jessie J wants to know if I’m going to do it, I want to know if she’s going to do it. I think will.i.am wants to do it and I think Danny O’Donoghue wants to do it. Hopefully the four of us will be the same, that’s the key I think. We worked so well together, if you take one out, it’s going to be like the missing piece of the puzzle.”

Jones performed at the V Festival at the weekend and it seems he was a big hit with fans of all ages. He tweeted:

‘SO GREAT V Fest fun in the sun, my kinda day :) ! – THANKS everybody x’

One fan tweeted:

‘Highlight of V Festival was doing the Carlton dance to Tom Jones.’

Another wrote:

‘Awesome Day 1 at V Festival yesterday! Today’s highlights include our guilty pleasure Tom Jones, Tinie Tempah, Rita Ora and Nero!’

A third added:

‘V festival amazing. Tom Jones what a legend, so fab to see, stole the festival.’
