The Voice 2013: Will.i.am, Jessie J, Tom Jones & Danny O’Donoghue turn down pop star Kavana!
The Voice returns to our screens later this month (yay!) and like last year apparently we can look forward to seeing some pretty famous faces.
In 2012 West End star Kerry Ellis auditioned for the show but was turned down by the four coaches at her blind audition and it’s been reported that 90s popstar Kavana suffered the same fate recently.
The “I Can Make You Feel Good” singer was a flash in the pan celebrity back in the late 90s, before fading into musical obscurity and he had hoped to revive his career by succeeding on the BBC show.
However, insiders have reported that when he sang for the panel – Will.i.am, Jessie J, Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue – none of them turned in their seats to offer him a place in their team.
An insider told The Daily Star:
“He was gutted.”
Kavana has of course went down the reality TV route before and back in 2007 he appeared on Simon Cowell’s ITV show ‘Grease Is The Word’. He enjoyed moderate success on the series and finished in second place.
He recently toured with G*Mania, a musical show inspired by the TV series Glee and starred for three episodes in E4′s Hollyoaks Later.
Other famous faces that tried out for the show this year include Hear’Say singer Danny Foster, Cleo Higgins of girl band Cleopatra, Hollyoaks actress Alice Barlow and Olympic hurdler Tasha Danvers.
