The Voice 2014: Jessie hasn’t been asked back but will.i.am has!
Jessie J has revealed that she hasn’t yet been asked to take part in next year’s series of The Voice.
The ‘Wild’ hitmaker has acted as a coach on the first two series’ of the BBC talent competition and channel bosses recently confirmed that the show would return for a third run in 2014.
Auditions start next week and proceedings are well underway to line up some new singers for the next round, however Jessie may not be on the panel this time round it seems.
Chatting with The Sun this week she admitted that she hasn’t thought about rejoining Danny O’Donoghue, Will.i.am and Tom Jones yet, but she hasn’t been asked either.
She said: “I’m not thinking about it yet. I haven’t been asked, so I don’t want to think about it until I’m asked.”
The only reason this seems a little suspicious is because a week ago Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am admitted that he HAS been asked to come back next year but hasn’t decided whether or not to accept the offer.
He wants to see who else is returning first and confessed that he wouldn’t want to do the show without the other three. The US star told The Mirror:
“I’ve been asked to do series three, but it would depend on who else was there and it would be a hard decision. I feel like I’m married to Jessie so it would be weird if she wasn’t there. It’s like cheating.”
Will ended the last series on a bit of a sour note and when Andrea Begley beat his act Leah McFall, he stormed off set and engaged in a bit of a Twitter rant about the result.
A few days later, when he had time to calm down, he did have some positve things to say about the series though and tweeted:
“I loved season2 of #theVOICEuk…I had a blast…and I met @leahmcfallmusic…and now I can’t wait to work on #newORIGINALsongs…#letGO!!!”
Will and Leah jetted off to LA yesterday to begin work on her new album.
Jessie sounds like she does want to rejoin her pals for 2014 and admitted that she had a lot of fun on last Saturday’s grand finale.
Her act Matt Henry may have been the first eliminated but she was still full of praise for the eventual winner and said:
“You know what? The final was so much fun.
“Andrea Begley has an amazing voice. The finalists were so different and this year I just felt we (the coaches) were all more comfortable.”
Jessie also tweeted:
“Huge congratulations to Andrea for winning tonight! So proud of you and what you have achieved and your voice is amazing! Well done honey! X”
