The Voice: Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera perform amazing Queen medley (VIDEO)
We LOVE it when reality TV judges show just why they deserve to be in their position and we have to admit, few do it as well as the mentors on The Voice.
At the beginning of last night’s live show, Marron 5 frontman Adam Levine, country singer Blake Shelton, ‘Crazy’ hitmaker Cee Lo Green and pop diva Christina Aguilera performed a medley of popular Queen songs and we have brought you the video below.
Levine started with an original take on Bohemian Rhapsody, while Cee Lo and Blake sang the popular rock anthem We Will Rock You. Aguilera got her ‘money note’ moment with a histrionic-heavy version of We Are The Champions.

I heard that medley at the beginning of the show, and thought it was dreadful. These 4 individuals may have great voices on their own, but they do NOT belong together – on any stage. I’ve never heard of 3 of the 4 judges before this show, so have no preconceived notions as to their talents, but this was a poor song choice for most of them. Mr. Levine suffers by comparison to the Original singer from Queen, and Blake and Cee Lo were just dreadful on their parts. Ms Aguilera has a formidable voice, but was so over the top in her performance (and outfit), that I would have given her a thumbs down, as well. It’s a good thing these people were not performing for votes, as I suspect none would have fared well with anyone not already a fan.
Blake redeemed himself later in the show, with his own crew of contestants, and sounded much better, as did Christina with hers, but this was just a bad choice on the parts of the powers that be, to try to harmonize 4 such diverse artists, and hope they would sound good together. They didn’t, and I hope they do not attempt to blend their voices together in future.
Freddie will be turning in his grave at this rubbish.
