The Voice Battle Rounds: Danny O’Donoghue thinks David Julien vs John James Newman is David vs Goliath
Danny O’Donoghue was slightly worried about the fate of David Julien, when he teamed him up against John James Newman in The Voice battle rounds.
The Script frontman admitted that he may have been slightly unfair, in pitting the fairly inexperience singer against the ‘consummate professional’ that is Newman for the BBC series, in a sing off which would determine their fate in the competition.
Danny said their duet had the capability to be like ‘David vs Goliath’.
Julien also confessed that he was slightly intimidated at the thought of singing against John James, admitting:
‘I feel like I am the rookie of the bunch. I’m insecure I suppose.’
In comparison John insisted that he wasn’t nervous, just desperate to succeed. The 33 year old has a famous brother and father and has been on the periphery of the music industry for years. He feels this is his time and added:
”I’ve worked hard over the years, I do feel like I deserve my opportunity.’
On tonight’s Battle Round’s show, the pair will be seen taking on ‘Dakota’ by The Stereophonics and Tom Jones takes a shine to David and in particular his curly hair.
Tune in at 7.30 tonight to see who Danny picks for the live shows and leave your comments below, telling us who you want to see in the lives.
