When Danny O’Donoghue got up close and personal to Bo Bruce on the final episode of The Voice, he should have known what a rumour fest he would start.

The frontman and lead singer of Irish band The Script performed a duet with the reality TV contestant, having coached her for the last few months and when he held on to her hip and got so close that the almost kissed, Twitter erupted with fans sure that the pair were dating.

Today, it was revealed that the hunk had split from his girlfriend of four years Irma Mali and of course many people assumed it was because of a romance with Bo.

However Danny’s rep says that the singers are just ‘friends.’

He insisted:

‘Danny and Bo are definitely just friends’.

In an interview with The Irish Independent a pal of Danny’s ex Irma said that actually, it was her that called time on their relationship. They said:

‘The truth is that Irma has decided to end the relationship with Danny as they are both going in different directions.’

‘This split has been evident for quite a while now and has nothing to do with any third parties.’

It might be true and they probably are just friends, but we still like to think that Bo and Danny are embroiled in a hot and passionate fling….it keeps us happy, so leave us alone with our dreams!
