The Voice Final: Danny O’Donoghue cries then sings ‘Read All About It’ with Bo Bruce – awwwww (VIDEO)
Each remaining contestant on the BBC show was given the chance to duet with their mentor for the finale, but while all the other coaches chose to sing one of their own songs, this evening we loved the fact that Danny picked a current track, that was totally out of his comfort zone for he and Bo’s collaboration.
The pair first performed the song when they took to the streets of London to busk earlier this week, with Bo singing Emeli Sande’s segments and The Script frontman taking the rap parts. Thankfully by tonight Danny had learned the lyrics and was no longer reading them from a sheet.
In fact, his entrance onto stage with a troupe of army style drummers was pretty impressive and we loved the chemistry between the pair and the genuine friendly vibe they share.
Both shone as amazing performers and we thought it was definitely the performance of the night so far, by far. More to the point, when the duo got up close and personal at the end, we found ourselves wondering if Max Milner had been blown out and replaced with a new love interest!
Afterwards Danny praised Bo saying:
‘She did incredibly, it’s tough to take a rap and add a melody to it. I think she will be a guest vocalist on a lot of tracks to come.’
We were moved when he burst into tears, when talking about how Bo copes with appearing on the show, while looking after her terminally ill mother.
Did you enjoy Danny and Bo’s performance tonight? Do you think the bookies have it right? Can Bo win? Leave your comments below…
