The Voice UK: Conor Maynard may join the show as a coach!

There has of course been much speculation about who might fill the vacant coach spot on The Voice since it was confirmed that Jessie J won’t be back next year.

Last week, it was reported that singer Annie Lennox may soon sign up – as it’s not known if Sir Tom Jones will return to the show either – and today, it’s been revealed that teen singer Conor Maynard may join the show as a coach.

He told the Star on Sunday, “The Voice was good because it was musicians judging it.

“With previous pop shows, you’d always hear fans moan, ‘They’re not musicians, so how can they judge it?’

“But on The Voice, the judges know what the people auditioning are going through.”

He added, “[Judging] looks like a fun thing to do, so it’s part of the plan to eventually try that sort of thing…

“I wouldn’t be deliberately brutal as a judge but I’d certainly be honest.”

So far, only Danny O’Donoghue and Will.i.am have confirmed that they’ll definitely be back for the show’s second run.

Do you think Conor could hack being a coach? Or is he too young and inexperienced?

Mind you, many people thought that of X Factor judge Tulisa when she joined the judging panel last year, but she of course went on to prove her mettle when she mentored winners Little Mix.
