The Voice UK: Jessie J does need your money, money, money to help buy her big Price Tag house in London!
The Voice coach Jessie J has reportedly got herself onto the property ladder by purchasing a house in West London…
According to the Sun, for the last few years, Jessie has been renting a modest flat, however, at 24, she felt it was time to put down a few roots and invest some of her cash in bricks and mortar.
Which is not only ever so grown up, it rather much represents a 180 turnabout from the intimation in the lyrics of her hit track ‘Price Tag’ that she isn’t interested in material things.
Here’s a reminder of some of the track’s lyrics, but the bits in brackets are my additions of course ![]()
Why is everybody so obsessed?
Money can’t buy us happiness (but it can buy you a house in Primrose Hill)
If we all slow down and enjoy right now
Guarantee we’ll be feelin’
All right… (and if not, you can just go home to your new house)
Well, keep the price tag
And take the cash back
Just give me six strings and a half stack (as well as an open plan lounge)
And you can, can keep the cars
Leave me the garage (that’s attached to your new house)And all I…
Yes all I need are keys and guitars… (Indeedy… the keys to your new house)
Anyway, a friend of Jessie’s told the paper, “Jessie can’t believe that she’s managed to buy her own house when she’s still only 24.”
Bless.

You are upset that she bought a house? That is what working people do. The Sun also said that they have no idea how much her house cost and her flat was a small two bedroom. I doubt she did an Adele and spent well over six million to buy a mansion that she can’t even get to the other side without breaking a sweat. Leave the girl alone. It is well earned.
The funny thing is, while you try to bash her about this, she has probably made the least of her money from music. Most of her money probably comes from all of her endorsement deals and The Voice, so Price Tag still holds true. Money from music really isn’t that remarkable when you look at all the people who have to get paid before the singer and it doesn’t come right away either. That is why most pop stars have endorsement deals because singing doesn’t front the money.
As the very annoying Michael Winner might say, ‘Calm down dear…’
This piece was entirely tongue in cheek, and I wish Jessie well in her house hunt
Contrary to what you apparently think, I like her a lot, and again, this article was primarily jest.
Thanks for visiting us though!
These are the types of articles written about Jessie all the time that get people to start bashing her. What you view as tongue and cheek, many others do not and will use your words to say “Oh, look what a terrible person she is.” I have seen it happen numerous times and it seems a bit wrong to promote that behavior if you don’t believe it. I’m sure I will see an article or similar magnitude about Justin Bieber since he says as long as some girl loves him he could be broke in his new song? It’s only fair. The lyrics to Jessie’s song don’t even mean what the public has tried to make them out. Quite sad, really. It seems people seem to dislike her just because they can. Some things don’t deserve criticism and buying a house like the rest of the working majority who can afford it isn’t something that should be criticized.
