The Voice UK: Jessie J pulls out of Alnwick Castle live gig as she’s ill and “exhausted”

It’s been reported today that The Voice coach Jessie J has had to pull out of a scheduled live performance at Northumberland’s Alnwick Castle having contracted the cytomegalovirus (CMV) which has left her “exhausted.”

Fans of the singer are of course disappointed that she won’t be appearing, but as Jessie has a history of heart problems, she of course has to be particularly careful over health matters.

In a statement to her fans, Jessie said, “I have been diagnosed with a viral infection recently that has caused me to be extremely fatigued.

“I was hoping to be better, but I have been to see my doctor this morning after not feeling great who has advised me I am still in need of rest and to perform will make me worse…”

The concert was due to take place today, but it’s now been rescheduled for 25 August.

KAL Music Limited, who organised the event, told the BBC, “We would like to extend an apology to all concert ticket holders for any inconvenience caused.

“We are hugely disappointed to have to cancel Saturday’s performance, but are pleased to have already confirmed an alternative date for the concert to go ahead.

“We hope that all ticket holders will be able to attend what is sure to be an incredible event. We wish Jessie J a speedy recovery.”

Jessie has also had to cancel a headlining slot at Ponty’s Big Weekend music event in Pontypridd, south Wales.

Get well soon Jessie!
