Will.i.am has admitted that he is loving working with his fellow judges on the new series of The Voice.

The Black Eyed Peas star has signed up as a judge and mentor on the new BBC reality TV venture, which will hit our screens this spring and will sit alongside fellow music stars Jessie J, Danny O’Donoghue, and Tom Jones.

Auditions for the brand new series started in London last week and as well as performing a collaboration of Will’s hit ‘I Gotta Feeling’ the panel also sat through dozens of tryouts by talented British singers.

Speaking to The Mirror, Will praised his co-star Tom Jones saying:

“Tom Jones is a frickin’ legend! He’s like ‘Damn, man, let me tell you all about the time me and Sammy Davis Jr and Frank Sinatra hung out. And then the time I partied with Elvis, we were rocking’.

“I love working with him, he’s too cool. Tom Jones is like igloo-cool.”

He added:

“Danny from The Script is talented. A writer, singer and producer – he’s dope. I’ve heard that I’m supposed to be rowing with Jessie J, but I dig that girl.

“Jessie J is fresh. I want to do a song with her.”

Will previously blasted Simon Cowell for sacking his pal Cheryl Cole and as her manager, insisted that she will never again judge on one of his shows. He also added that he won’t be taking part in The X Factor either, saying that he much prefers the credibility of The Voice.

“I won’t be a judge on X Factor. But The Voice is different. You can’t even compare the two,” he explained.

“One, you have people in the music industry, current and legends, coaching the next generation. The other format you have judges critiquing, giving their opinions on things when they don’t really know, other than Randy Jackson on Idol.

“But on The Voice, we’ve all got experience.”

The Voice is set to launch on BBC One this April and will go head to head with ITV and Simon Cowell’s Britain’s Got Talent each Saturday night. Which will you be tuning in for? Leave your comments below.
