Tom Jones reveals Jessie J, Danny O’Donoghue and Will.i.am will ALL be back for The Voice 2013
The rumours have circulated, claims have been made but Sir Tom Jones has finally cleared up the confusion surrounding next year’s series of The Voice.
The legendary singer has revealed that he will be back for the 2013 series of the BBC singing competition, as long as Jessie J, Danny O’Donoghue and Will.i.am also sign for a second year.
It was reported that the Welsh star and the only female coach would not be back next year, however Jessie took to Twitter last month to insist that she would be returning to her big red swivel chair.
In an interview with Absolute Radio, Tom said that if the other three singers were back, he would follow their lead.
He said:
“We’re talking about it right now.”
“We’re trying to get it all sorted out, as long as the other coaches are there and we have the same team, then it looks like it will happen.”
The DJ asked if Tom’s return was dependent on all three of his co-stars staying the same and he added:
“It’s got to be that, I think.”
He went on: “I don’t want to be sitting there with somebody that I don’t admire or particularly like. There are a few of them!”
While it looks like Jessie, Danny, Tom and will.i.am will all be back in their coaching chairs, the presenting team on the show could well change in the coming months.
Reggie Yates hosted the show with Holly Willoughby during the first run, but he admitted this weekend that he is ‘unsure‘ if he will be doing a second series.
BBC boss Danny Cohen also revealed that the next series will have a slightly different format, with longer battles rounds and less live shows. He thinks this will help stave off the ratings slump that The Voice experienced at the end of it’s run in May and June.
