Joe West faced epic disappointment on tonight’s episode of The Voice.

The 19 year old singer performed Mirrors for the coaches and before singing he described his tough life, telling the team:

“My dad left us when I was 14, it had a big impact on my family and meant I had to become the man of the house and grow up a lot quicker.”

He added:

“I work at the local supermarket as a supervisor, I have been there for two years. It’s important to me to have a job and pay my way and show my mum I’m always working hard.”

“I have never really had a break and I feel now is the time. I want the best for my family and want to do well in this competition.”

Who is in The Voice 2014 battle rounds? Team Tom, Team Kylie, Team & Team Ricky revealed!

Although no one turned, the coaches had some constructive advice for Joe and Ricky Wilson said:

The Voice 2014

“Well done, it was good, everyone loved it but here comes the tough love, if you want them to really love it there has got to be another revel to go to. For me it was just on one level and you never took it to another place.” added:

“You know you can sing, but I don’t know if you know you are your favourite act yet and that’s why I didn’t turn.”

Kylie Minogue continued:

“I have to agree with the others, you weren’t quite there. Maybe with a different song it would have been another story.”

Pete Davies the voice

Tom Jones said:

“This is one shot and you have to make sure that is the song you can shine on. But good luck to you and keep it up.”

Later in the evening Pete Davies faced a similar fate after his performance of Roxanne.

He said:

“This is such an important opportunity for me, how many times am I going to get to do this. It is a life changing chance and I am going to give it everything I have got.”

Though she didn’t turn, Kylie praised Pete saying:

“I just completed my team or I might have spun around. You sounded gorgeous and the band did an amazing job.” regretted his decision and added:

“I am thinking I need Q Tips right about now to clean my ears out. The reason why I didn’t turn was not because I didn’t hear it, it is because I am following my gut. Something else could come, or I could be very wrong and have just blown my chances.”

    Pete Davies was brilliant.
    Great rendition of ‘Roxanne’
If he had an album out with similar styles on it, it would be worth buying.
    Who is he?
