Tonight is the final of this year’s The Voice, and will see singers Christina Marie, Sally Barker, Jermain Jackman and Jamie Johnson battling it out to be crowned winner…
But there’s another race for glory on today too, the Grand National, and according to coach Kylie Minogue, that classic annual horse race isn’t dissimilar to The Voice final!
Speaking to The Express, Kylie said, “The Voice is like a horse race…
“You think one is in front and winning, then someone else overtakes them.”
Well, as of yesterday, Christina Marie was the bookies’ favourite to win The Voice, with Sally Barker a close second in the running, but you can read more about that using the links at the bottom of this page.
Back to Kylie’s interview though, and when asked how she’s enjoyed being a coach on the BBC show this year, she replied, “Overall, it’s [been] a great new experience…”
She added, “I’ve had a lot of experiences, but I haven’t had an experience like this.
“I thought, ‘What’s the worst that can happen? You make a fool of yourself, but I’ve already done that over and over and over again, anyway. Let’s try it’.
“And actually, it’s been great.”
It remains to be seen if the show’s bosses can persuade Kylie to return next year, because as fans of the show will know, the Aussie pop princess has declared that she won’t be…
But that’s apparently only because next year’s blind auditions are due to begin while Kylie is still on her tour, however, according to her fellow coach Sir Tom Jones, the BBC are pulling out all the stops to reschedule in order to allow Kylie to finish her tour before filming for next year’s show begins.
He told The Sun’s TV Biz, “I think she is [coming back]. If they can work The Voice around her tour dates, she’s in.”
Here’s hoping Kylie does return – I really think she’s been a breath of fresh air on the show. Do you?
