The Voice returns for it’s final blind audition episode tonight and as usual, the instalment is packed full of awesome talent!
In fact, after watching the episode we’d say there is even more talent tonight than on any episode in the series so far, unfortunately because the coaches have almost filled their teams by this stage, a LOT of the brilliant singers get turned away. It’s a bit gutting.
Despite the depressing turn of events, there are some stand out moments and performance this evening, one of which comes courtesy of 17 year old hopeful Luciee Marie Closier.
The pretty teenager could have stepped straight off the set of The Only Way is Essex and wearing some pretty flowers in her hair, she sings Mama Do for the panel, after revealing that her dad has a MASSIVE crush on Kylie Minogue.
We don’t want to give too much away about the outcome of her audition, but we can tell you that Will.i.am has some constructive criticism and says:
“You started off magnificent and then it stayed there. There was room to grow…”
Also performing tonight is ambulance controller Tom Barnwell, 26, from Stratford upon Avon.
He pulls off a masterstroke by performing American Boy, which was of course co-written by Will, though his nerves almost get the better of him beforehand and he confesses:
“I am used to dealing with stress on a daily basis but this is a totally different kind of pressure.”
Luckily the coaches love the rendition and in the end Will, Kylie and Ricky Wilson are all up on the floor, dancing along.
Tom Jones jokes:
“I didn’t get up to dance because I was still listening and looking. It’s not that I can’t dance, I can still dance but I loved the way you sound.”
We also love 48 year old music teacher Gary Poole. Gaz puts his own spin on Valerie. Before singing he is a little worried and confesses:
“There is definitely a role reversal going on here, I am going to be in front of four great coaches who know what they are talking about.’
His dulcet tones are enough to impress Kylie, who admits:
“You were smooth but I have someone that is in the same area as you.”
