The Voice UK 2014: Bizzi Dixon

Bizzi Dixon was up next to take on the coaches, and you may think his name is familiar… that’s because his brother just auditioned for the show.

In his VT, Bizzi said he was signed to EMI Records and he released a track, toured Europe and America, but things didn’t go as well as he wanted them to.

When he left the label, he took some time out and realised that he wanted another shot at the music scene.

“I’ve always looked up to him, he’s got it all as a vocalist,” Bizzi said about Shenton.

Bizzi took on Kings of Leon’s Use Somebody on tonight’s show and performed it a tad differently to the original version as it didn’t seem to have the rocky edge that the original version has, but he certainly got into the song during the middle section.

It didn’t look like it was going to be until Kylie Minogue and Tom Jones swooped in and hit their buttons within the final couple of seconds of the performance and for the first time tonight, we had a battle on our hands.

“There was just one shaky little part there, but I understand that as nerves can do that. I would want to hear more things that you can do and once I can hear what else you can do. If you needed help in any other way, I can do that. But you came through,” Tom pitches.

Kylie added: “You’re a soulful singer and I like that you did a rock song – that’s a really good place to start. Some places were a little shaky and there’s something there and I love it”.

Will went on to add that Tom doesn’t have a guy on his team yet, and Kylie has some great singers, but nobody like him so it’s a tough decision.

In the end, Bizzi decided to go with Team Tom!

So, the Dixon family went home happy that one half of the brothers have made it through to the next stage of the competition, but was it the right brother that made it through? Let us know in the comments below…

Shenton Dixon should have got through; The song he chose, and the limited amount of time he had to sing it in, did not allow Shenton to really show what he is capable of. To really begin to appreciate what Shenton can do, visit his website and hit Play on the player there and just listen 😉 It’s not the judges fault really, just the short-sighted harshness of the show. I hope one of the judges does decide to look into Shenton’s abilities. On a personal note. and having heard Shenton’s full range, I feel he sounds like a cross between Edwin Starr and the lead singer from the Real Thing 😉
