What? The Voice’s Will.i.am goes trippy on Nathan Amzi, Christina Marie, Callum Crowley & Tom Barnwell

will.i.am

will.i.am

Will.iam is a very different individual that’s for sure.

The Black Eyed Peas star has a very unique banter and patter and this weekend all his craziness is out in full force, as he heads into The Voice battle rounds.

On Saturday the lucky contestants that made it past the blind auditions will be going head to head with their teammates, as the coaches pair their hopefuls for some epic singing battles.

Ricky Wilson pitted Nathan Amzi against Christina Marie and it seems Will appreciated the former’s rendition of their song.

We’re not sure Amzi knew exactly what the coach was talking about though, as the star started wittering about space and oceans and ballerinas and he even threw in a little football analogy here and there.

Christina Marie, Nathan Amzi

People watching this at home, what Nathan just did right now, was he was thrown into outer space, being an animal that lives in the ocean and he performed wonderful feats out there in space. You really tore it up.

That’s like a ballerina going to a football or rugby match and just wrecking shop. Not that I am saying you’re a ballerina…. That was too, too cool. Get it, ballerina tutu?

That was just too too awesome!

Have a watch…

Meanwhile, as he prepared his own contestants Callum Crowley and Tom Barnwell for their battle, Will.i.am invoked the spirit of the late Michael Jackson to help the boys.

He of course worked with Michael before his death in 2009 and while working through their song, Will told the singers:

“If he was here today he would say ‘You’ve got to shred it, turn it, put it on fire. Just burn the whole place down with your voice. Be a dragon. Just kill it!”

Tom Barnwell, Callum Crowley, Will.i.am, Leah McFall, Dante Santiago

Will.i.am will be assisted in battle rounds by his old pal Dante Santiago and his former finalist Leah McFall. The former was said to be a big ‘disappointment’ to show bosses, who were apparently hoping that the Bang Bang hitmaker could pull in a big named star for the next stage.

The Voice battle rounds begin this Saturday night on BBC One. Check out who has made it through in all the teams here and the pairings for this weekend here.
