American Horror Story: Freak Show SPOILERS! Things get cagey in the new teaser video – WATCH!

American Horror Story: Freak Show - Cage

We’re just over a month away from seeing the brand new season of hit FX show, American Horror Story.

Over the last week or so, the promo for ‘Freak Show’ has really stepped up a notch, with almost daily teasers being released. In the latest trailer to be released by FX, things get a little cagey…

In the trailer, we see a person (we’re presuming one of the freaks) locked in a tiny bird’s cage. As the person looks like they’re struggling to get out, the camera pans back, and we see a man stood over the cage with his hand on top of it.

It’s all a little creepy. So far, we’ve had a few other trailers. The first saw a claw clutching an admission ticket to the freak show, the second saw a man with a split tongue licking a lolly, and the third trailer took us under the big top, as we saw a woman swinging on a big ring.

American Horror Story: Freak Show - Poster

Elsewhere, the first cast poster was released yesterday, which gave us a bit more of an insight into what type of characters the cast members will be playing.

Michael Chiklis will take on the strong man role, whilst Jessica Lange is the sort of ring leader of one of the last remaining freak shows in America.

Kathy Bates plays the braded lady, and it looks like Angela Bassett’s character has three boobs!

We also know that Sarah Paulson will play the role of a two-headed woman, Bette and Dot.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter yesterday, Ryan Murphy said that the fourth season is much darker than Coven, and some of the freaks are “unique and weird”.

“It’s about something: It’s about outcasts and how society at that time… true stories about circus performers who were cast aside. The story in many ways dovetails with Asylum, because they leave one era and you can see many of them in real life were put into asylums,” he explained.

American Horror Story: Freak Show premieres on FX on October 8.
