Jess and Lou Pearson-Faith are a lesbian couple from Essex. They live in a council flat with Jess’s three children from a previous marriage. With no full-time jobs, they are reliant on benefits.
Two hundred miles away in Cheshire, in the Berrisford household, Mandy looks after the house and kids, while dad Mick works over 70 hours a week on the farm. How will Mick react when he discovers that the Pearson-Faiths get more money through benefits than he earns? And how will Jess cope when she learns that Mick would rather disown his son than accept him if he came out as gay?

The guy who chucked his son out of bed etc. is the most smug self-centred obnoxious smarmy vile pathetic excuse for a man. He thinks he is are3al man’ - and yet has no idea thanks to his ignorance what a real man is!
God I hope someone smacks him in his smug mouth!
He’s certainly no man, he’s nothing but a bully, he bullied his wife (she was either scared or very stupid) and both his kids. For a woman to laugh at her disabled son being both mentally and physically abused is disgusting. For him to see nothing wrong with it just shows what sort of idiot he really is.
He reminded me very much of David Brent out of The Office, only he was serious.
The other lady hit the nail on the head I think, she said he was upset as she had a degree and he was a cleaner. He couldn’t bully her so he picked on the weakest link in the chain, that being his son.
And to put meat in a veggie’s food and not find anything wrong with it is pathetic. Someone needs to do to him what he did to his son and maybe he’ll see the error of his ways!
