Singing duo Adante have revealed that they intend to try again to win over the X factor judges, after their failed attempt in 2008.

The Welsh local club and pub singers friends, Cathe Lewis 36 and Adele Gabriel 37, tried out last year and made the judges smile with their version of ‘Big Spender’.

However whilst Simon admitted that the girls, “don’t have bad voices”, he went on to say:

“The problem is everything is kind of cheap, from the outfits, the attitude, the performance, which means it’s difficult for me to take you seriously”.

Speaking to the South Wales Echo at the Cardiff auditions this week, Gabriel explained: “We came back this year to have another go at it. We’ve worked really hard and really upped our game.

“It was definitely more nervewracking auditioning in front of a live audience, though, rather than just the judges.”

Lewis added: “We made Wales smile last year – this year we want to make them proud. We haven’t stopped practising for nine months – we’ve had three weekends off.”
