Last year’s X Factor winner Alexandra Burke has confirmed that she will never aim for another Christmas number one.

Alexandra’s debut single ‘Hallelujah’ claimed the top spot last Christmas after she won the ITV show but she has told The Daily Star she will never try to repeat that experience.

Alex said: “No way will I ever go for the Christmas No 1 again – it’s renowned that whoever wins the X Factor gets that spot.”

She added: “They are new artists who have just come into this world and it’s scary. It would make me feel amazing to let someone get to No 1 who has never had it before.”

Let someone get to number one? Who would have thought that a new artist like Alexandra would have so much control over the UK singles chart.
