And the Winner Of X Factor 2005 Is…..Shayne Ward!

Shayne Ward who celebrated his 21st birthday while in the X Factor house has been the bookies favourite since day one. So it’s no surprise that he won the show tonight. To be honest it sounded as if Simon had the new single ‘That’s My Goal’ written specially for him, as it suited his voice and range much more than it did Andy’s.

Shayne may not have been the most talented performer in the competition but he certainly has the most chance of making a lasting career as a pop star. He has the voice, the confidence and most importantly boyish good looks and a cheeky smile. Within the week young girls will have plastered their walls with Shayne posters and will have his single playing on repeat for days on end.

Soul sensation Andy Abraham came a close second to Shayne and if the X Factor producers are to be believed there was only 1.2 percent difference between the total of Shayne and Andy’s vote. Thats a sensational result for a middle aged ex binman. With the right material and management Andy will hopefully forge a successful career for himself in the music industry. He may not reach the heights that Shayne undoubtedly will but he certainly shouldn’t have to go back to emptying peoples bins ever again.
