Ashely Cole has revealed that there is a soft side to his X Factor wife and after seeing her break into tears on last week’s show, he admitted that she sometimes gets worked up because of her nerves.

Cheryl has just released her first solo single and is hoping to pursue a TV career in America.

Ashley told The People: “The nerves sometimes lead to tears. But I try and make sure I’m always there to help. Cheryl still worries that things might not work out for her.

“She has worked incredibly hard to get where she is but fears it could all end tomorrow. When Cheryl first thought about going solo she got scared. She gets very nervous so I try to help her as much as I can. I tell her, ‘You’re going to be great’ but it doesn’t always help when someone else says that.”

On Cheryls performance on last week’s X factor results show, Ashely said:

“I thought she was brilliant, I was so proud. Fingers crossed that she gets her No 1 and then we will both be very happy. She deserves all the good that comes to her.”
