Bad Lashes are the first act to leave X Factor 2008
It was girl group against girl group tonight as GirlBand squared off against Bad Lashes.
In a new twist, the outgoing acts get to sing a different song to convince the public to keep them in the competition. GirlBand sang That’s What Friends Are For and Bad Lashes did a version of Wonderwall that they also sang during auditions.
Travesty! In a typical spineless moment, Louis Walsh gave up the ability to save Bad Lashes by allowing the public vote to decide who stayed. As a result, Bad Lashes left the show and the inferior Girlband got to stay another week.
Simon said “I thought they were both shocking to be honest. I’m sending home Bad Lashes”. Cheryl said “I’ve got a lot of respect for both of you, but I’m sending home Girlband.” Danni also voted for Girlband, and Louis decided to let the public decide.
In a deadlock situation, the earlier public vote is referred to and the act with the least votes leaves. Unfortunately, the public voted more for Girlband and Bad Lashes are out on their ear! They can console themselves with the news that the wonderful Unconventionals got booted last year before they got a proper hearing from the public.
Girlband say that they intend to up their game next week and plan to avoid being in the bottom two in the next week.
Over to you folks, what’s the verdict on tonight’s result? Are you glad Bad Lashes are out and who would you prefer to have left tonight?

I am so disappointed by Louis’ actions. He could have saved who he actually liked, instead he chickened out and left it to someone else.

I think Loui and some of the other juges picked the worst bunch out of thier 6 acts to go 4 the live show and to be honest it would not have made a diff which band went i think out of all the acts the girls are by far the strongest and i think this year is Cherlys good way of getting her back next year hey

I can’t believe how Louis chickened out of voting for his fav 2 stay, I think Bad Lashes were brill, I think they were given a rubbish song 2 sing (again louis’s fault) But when they came on and sang wonderwall I thought they were wicked, Girlband are rubbish compared 2 them, what was the British public thinkin of when voting 4 them and can’t believe they voted 4 them more than Bad Lashes. Anyway as u can probaly tell, I am gutted thought they were grear and could have gone alot further! Louis Walsh is spineless!!

Well hello there. I just returned from the pub, and I’ve missed the X Factor. I got to see GirlBand, Austin Drage, Alexandra Burke, that Ricky Gervais look-a-like “Daniel”, and JLS (the band formerly known as UFO) perform on the first show. I am VERY suprised to hear that Bad Lashes have been evicted from the show. I’m really looking forward to see the show tomorrow after work at 5pm on ITV2. I suppose I’m not that disappointed, as I want Diana Vickers to win. She is wonderful - a true star. She will go far in the music industry. Anyway, I’m getting off point. Goodnight. Alexandra was also wonderful.

What a show the X Factor was tonight! Both Bad Lashes and Girlband were out of tune, and should never have been in the final in the first place. The 16-year-old was just a young boy with a pleasant voice, and didn’t the judges notice how Alexandra took a breath between words, e.g. “Some(breath)body”? She had appalling technique, yet it wasn’t picked up.
The only three acts worthy of reaching the final are Ruth, Diana and Laura; as for the others, they simply dont’ have “it”….

Louis has shot himself in the foot by not saving Bad Lashes, Girl Band won’t last long and he will only have one act left.

I’m glad Bad Lashes were booted off, they were the worse out of all the acts. I agree with Simon that they sounded like 4 separate singers rather than a band.

I think Louis did the right thing. I’ve always thought that when it comes to the live shows the judges should stop choosing-it should just be the public vote.

I CANT BELIVE THAT BAD LASHES WENT FIRST THEY WERE AWSOME GOOD LOOKIN GIRLS AND HAD GREAT VOICES AND STYLE LOL.IM ONLY TEN BUT I CANT BELIVE LOUIE CHICKENED OUT AND LESF IT 2 THE PEOPLE 2 DECIDE THEN IF LOUIE VOTED GIRLBAND COULD OF GONE (REALLY I FEEL SORRY 4 DANIEL BUT HE SHOULD OF GONE I THINK NO OFFENCE 2 HIM!)

im glad bad lashes went! i think they would have sounded better as seperate singers rather than a group. i dont think they can sing that great together at all.

I think Girl band should have gone - Louis really chickened out at a vital moment and he’s lost the better of the 2 bands… felt so sorry for the girls, they were just devastated and it was hard to watch. I’m sure their families hearts were breaking for them. I would have loved to wave a magic wand and do a rewind where Louis makes a proper decision and sends home Girl band.
Time the wimp went home.

Girl Bad were awful - terrible outfits and ‘venus’ was the pits - the dione warwick song was better, but not into emotional heart string songs just to get the vote
Bad lashes were much better - thought the girl with the short hair had a really good voice
Also cheryl had the right idea when she said louis should have given them something more indie
Louis totally ruined it - shame Simon didn’t agree as it wouldn’t have been louis’ decision then

Bad Lashes Wernt All That Bad? They Were Better Than Girl Band Anyway, So I Guess Louis Did The Wrong Thing By Sending Bad Lashes Home Because Now He Only Has JLS Left In The Competition, But There Going Too Win Anyway. !!!
