Pamela Anderson has admitted that she is still in touch with ex boyfriend Steve Jones and always tries to catch up with him when she’s in the UK.

The Baywatch star – who this week completed a stint in the UK Big Brother house – met the Welsh hunk in 2004 and enjoyed a few dates soon after. However she revealed that she had no idea he was fronting Simon Cowell’s new American X Factor series and rang him last week to say she was in London and wanted to meet up.

The blonde bombshell told The Sun:

“I didn’t really date him. We had a couple of ‘trysts’. I called him as soon as I arrived in England but he said he was in LA.

“I was like, ‘What are you doing there?’ I didn’t realise he was hosting X Factor. I’d love to see him — strictly as friends, of course!”

Pamela went on to claim that Steve will be a big hit with female viewers in the states, saying they are sure to ‘love him.’ She explained:

“He’s gorgeous and very good. The public will love him.”

As well as fronting Cowell’s new X Factor – which launches next week – Jones has also been booked to present this Sunday’s Emmy’s Pre-Show. It’s a ploy to introduce American audiences to his debonair wit and charm and it will be interesting to see how the hunk handles the mayhem that is the red carpet.
