Biography of Journey South

Journey South is made up of brothers Carl, 24, and Andrew, 28. They cite their main influences as being acts such as Richie Sambora, Mary J Blige and Freddie Mercury.

It was actually younger brother Carl who started performing in local pubs and clubs and was later joined by Andrew. The boys changed their band name to Journey South five years ago when they both gave up their jobs, bought a caravan and journeyed south to London to pursue their dreams of fame and fortune. Two years later and in huge amounts of debt the brothers admitted defeat and returned to their home town of Middlesborough.

UPDATE:
Journey South made it through to the final of X factor 2005. The came third with Andy Abraham second and Shayne Ward first. On the night they sang John Lennon’s ‘Happy Xmas/War Is Over’, The Beatles’ ‘Let It Be’ and ‘Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me’.
