Biography of The Conway Sisters
The Conway Sisters are made up of Sinead, 23, Sharon, 28, Laura, 18, and Marie, 22, from Sligo in Ireland.
The sisters are influenced by Sheryl Crowe, Whitney Houston and Freddie Mercury. The girls have immense musical talent and between them, they can play volin, piano, guitar and the tin whistle! One of them is a trained opera singer, and Sharon and Laura write the groups songs.
The four sisters have already tasted the big time, supporting Westlife for a huge gig in Sligo in 2003.
Westlife’s Shane Filan was so impressed he invited them to play at his wedding.
UPDATE
Despite being in the bottom two acts many times, The Conway Sisters were the seventh act to get voted off the X factor show. They have reportedly already been offered recording contracts both in the Uk and in the USA.

[...] If anyone knows what the X Factor television show is about, both on and off the screen, then it’s last year’s finalist and Sligo’s own Tabby Callaghan. And with fellow Sligo group The Conway Sisters destined for stardom on the show, Tabby offers some no nonsense advice to the girls. “Just be yourselves, is his first piece of advice. “And remember why you entered the show in the first place, he adds. The Sligo sisters, Sharon, Sinead, Marie and Laura from Rosses Point, have made it into the final of the television talent show and will make their debut live performance on the show this Saturday night. Last Saturday’s double show saw the four sisters from Rosses Point receive the thumbs up from Simon Cowell to tell them they had made it into the live show. For viewers of the show, the girls were ecstatic at being chosen and travelled back to Sligo to reveal the news to their parents and loved ones. Television cameras followed the girls to their home in Rosses Point where in their packed kitchen, they revealed the news that they were going to have to move to London. But despite all the excitement, there will be some stressful times ahead for the sisters. Rocker Tabby revealed that they should expect all their secrets to be dragged up and that they will read stuff about themselves that will both surprise and upset them. “The best advice I could give is for them to keep their heads about them and enjoy the experience. It’s all about getting exposure and this is the best possible chance to get that. “But don’t forget that it is only a television show and it will only last so long and always remember why you entered in the first place. “It’s about boosting your career. Don’t believe all the hype because it is all just part and parcel of the show. A close friend of the Conway Sisters said that the girls are in London and getting ready for the first live show. “Being in Simon’s group is a good thing. He is the most critical of all the judges, so they are better off having him as their mentor. “The girls would like viewers to keep a watchful eye for the voting numbers when they come up on the television screen. They need all the votes they can get, especially on the first night. Early betting shows that The Conway Sisters are among the favourites to clinch the title. Boylesports have them second favourite to win the contest outright. At 8/1, they are joint second favourites with soloist Maria Lawson. The favourite at the moment is 20-year-old Shane Ward from Manchester. The ultimate winner of the show will land a £1 million record deal and Simon Cowell has said that this year’s champ will become an international singing sensation. Meanwhile, Tabby is getting ready to launch his first solo single. Titled “Number One, the original track will be released here on October 28. He co-wrote the track with music producer Mark Hudson. [...] Apparently after a number of disagreements and arguments Simon has disowned the sisters. A TV insider revealed: “Simon and his team think The Conways are a nightmare. Their performances have been a disappointment - but the girls blame everyone else but themselves. [...]

[...] It certainly seems unfair that Louis would choose The Conway Sisters over Maria just because he knows them and they have worked with Westlife before. It is unlikely that The Conway Sisters will get much further in the competition, they have been in the bottom two acts before so obviously they are not inspiring the public to vote for them. As Sharon Osbourne said the X Factor competition should be about talent, not what country you are from or who you know better. [...]

[...] It would seem that rather than being grateful and glad to still have a place in the X Factor competition, The Conway Sisters are bearing grudges against all three judges. [...]

[...] But this week was his worst moment yet. Anyone who watches the X Factor regularly knows that The Conway Sisters haven’t got much hope of winning the show. They are talented and they can sing, but they don’t grab your attention or touch your heart the way in which some other contestants do. Maria Lawson however was one of the most talented people not only on the show but according to Simon Cowell in the whole of the UK. [...]

[...] Well, tonight was the night the inevitable happened. The Chipmunks Conway Sisters got axed from tonight’s X Factor. [...]

[...] Given Brian’s recent track record and flop of a solo career I would have thought he would be the last person Louis asked to write for Shayne. But then again with Louis Walsh it’s a case of who you know not what you know, as he proved when he voted to keep The Conway Sisters instead of the amazingly talented Maria Lawson! [...]
