Bisexual Danyl Johnson thinks Dannii Minogue is most attractive X Factor judge

X Factor early front runner, Danyl Johnson, has revealed that whilst he finds all the X Factor judges attractive, he would prefer to date Dannii Minogue.
Danyl has revealed that he is a bisexual and offered his opinion on the X Factor judging panel.
He told the Sunday Mirror: “I don’t like to conform or be put into one box or another and if I’m honest all the judges are good-looking. If I like someone’s personality it doesn’t really matter what they look like or what sex they are.
“Dannii and Cheryl are both beautiful and I’m a bit cheeky, so I played up to them a bit during the performance to get them on my side.
“I suppose if I had to choose, I’d prefer Dannii because she’s got a great personality. I reckon you could have a good night out with her – she’d be up for dancing and a laugh. I would love to have her as my mentor so I could get to know her a bit better.”
Johnson also confessed that he is not a great boyfriend.
He said: “If I’m being honest I’m a pretty rubbish boyfriend anyway. What with teaching and playing gigs, I’m so busy.”

I bet he doesn’t think this anymore. Danni was so out of order playing games to get a head. She knows he is the biggest competition to her and someone’s sexuality is nothing to do with how well they sing! She should give him a public apology.
You would have to be naive to put yourself forward for a show like X Facter and not think your life would be put under the microscope. Daniel should have been prepared that his life would becoem an open book and been ready for comments on his personal life and choices to come up …as it will for all the performers on the show. I’d rather know the truth about a performer and vote for them becasue fo their talent and not becasue i am fooled into thinking they are something they are not. Daniel is a talented brilliant performer. Just go for it!!!
That’s the first time I’ve heard a judge have a nasty dig about a contestant’s sexuality. I couldn’t believe how cheap that was. Ok the media is going to have a field day with any personal details they pick up about the contestants but a judge should have the good sense to realise that that is tasteless and nobody should be stooping to that level on the show!! I know they dig at each other about all sorts of things but not one of them would like to have their sexuality discussed on the air. How low can you go!!!
I think what Danni said this evening 2 Danyl was out of order and below the belt,excuse the pun! she obviously feels under threat by his outstanding performance. She should definately give him a public apology. Himself and Jamie along with Joe and Stacey the best of the show, going to be hard to say who is the actual best. Cant understand why Ireland cannot vote!!!!!!!!!! Simon if u read this let Ireland have a say if u are allowing Irish contenders into the comp at least make sure we have a voice by allowing votes from this side………….

I can’t believe Dannii outed Danyl on tonight’s show. He gave a fantastic performance and his sexuality is irrelevant. She embarrassed him on national TV, poor guy!

To bring up the issue of a contestents sexuality on TV is just dreadful. It is after all a singing contest and the best she could come up with was that he may not have needed to change the lyrics – very very poor behaviour Danni, you should be ashamed

This is being totally blown out of proportion. The judges had all been commenting on the risk of a man singing such a big female vocal. When he did come to sing it he obviously changed the lyrics to ‘girl’. Danni was simply saying in a lighted hearted manner that it could of been left as it was. Given we are in the 21st century & Danyl has rightly admitted his sexulaity she probably had a point, maybe the lyrics should of just been sang as originally written!!
Everyone seriously needs to chill out over this one!!!!!!
I was absolutely apalled to hear this underhand attack which had absolutely nothing to do with Danyl’s excellent performance – clearly streets above the other contestants. The judges should offer constructive and fair criticism and I believe this happened throughout the show until Danyl performed and despite his stunning and very professional performance he was unfairly criticised. Dannii Minogue made a judgement and comment about Danyl’s sexuality which in my opinion is akin to a comment on the colour of a person’s skin or their heritage. It is who a person is – and is not something that should be used as a form of attack. She should not only apologise but she should be axed from the show and not allowed to work for tv again. Whatever his sexuality nobody deserves to be treated and exposed in this way. A person’s sexuality is a personal thing. He should not be exposed to this sort of treatment and the show’s producers have a duty to protect him and any other contestant from this sort of comment.
Mickey D summed it up – why didn’t Dannii comment on his voice and performance.
I don’t get newspapers,so I did not know anything about Danyl’s sexual preferences, I was tuning in to watch the contestants sing / perform!!!
To have such a comment from a judge was back biting and uncalled for. I felt so sorry for Danyl – singing his heart out then having his sex life paraded was probably the last thing he expected. (Judging by the shock on his face – anyway)
By the way – we found out Will Young was gay AFTER he won Pop Idol!!

Then Simon, Jumps in which I missed till I saw the repeat, But she got the audience to join in, ‘no don’t we believe it??’ she waits for the response Cheryl jumps in to give her comments, audiences still awaiting the response cheering he says quitely shaking his head, I am not ashamed. The crowd cheer Cheryl tries to keep it about the performance, and keeps talking.
Will Young is gay and it wasn’t brought up, many gay singers sing songs about the opposite sex? George Micheal,Elton John, Boy George, Queen.

she was nasty and tried to belittle danyl on live tv. she knew it was live and knew the song he would be singing and must of sat up all night planning on what to say. the botox has rotted her one brain cell at long last!!

In our house she’s known as, “Whatever, Dannii” because nothing useful comes out of her mouth and we shout, “Whatever, Dannii” at the TV. She should be kicked off the show, not only for the unappropriate comment about Danyl.

i would have been suspended and disciplined possibly sacked for saying what she said, but hey this is only national telivision, she has confirmed to me that she is not even close to being qualified to do this job, my dislike has turned to disgust.

I’m an out gay and have followed Danni for many years, but after her cutting remark on Live TV I realise this is not a ’star’ that deserves my well earned money or time anymore!
Anyone that feels her homophobic remark was not acceptable should share their views with ITV at viewerservices@itv.com. I am tired of her jibes at ‘Miss Walsh’ and now she is digging jokes at the singers too! Surely this all adds up to sexual harrassment? Maybe it did not mean to sound the way it did, but why even mention such a thing on live TV? Does someone’s sexuality really bother Danni that much?

Seriously everyone pls watch the show again!! It was utterly cringeworthy and although I agree danni can be annoying and that her comment was outrageous, u can see that as soon as she said it she was horrified, I genuinely think it just fell out of her mouth, stupidly granted, but nonetheless she wasn’t being intentionally spiteful? Everyones going a tad overboard on the bullying of danni don’t be so unkind!!
How can anyone who cares about the treatment of LGBT people see it as a bad thing that a leading figure in the music industry suggested there was no need for a man to change the gender of a love song from male to female? It would be a huge, huge step forward if a male pop star/x factor contestant sung a song about another male. Danyl’s bisexualtiy is not private because he happily and confidently told the media he identifies as bisexual. Why shouldn’t it therefore be openly discussed? What difference does it make if it’s ‘a family show’? Don’t people in families have sexualities too. I’m willing to bet there was a large amount of young people watching the show who are struggling with their sexuality and by seeing it discussed in an open and casual way might be encouraged to be more open about it themselves and to see that there’s nothing wrong with being bisexual. As for Dannii, if you watch the clip, she clearly didn’t mean her comment in a malicious way. Actually, she was expressing the opinion that Danyl didn’t have to change the gender of the song quite straightforwardly. As I’ve said, that’s an immensely obvious suggestion to me but apparently not to the wider, heterocentric world we live in and therefore I salute her for saying it!

Right. She shouldn’t have said it, as soon she as she did say it it looked like she knew she shouldn’t have said it. BUT she was only trying to make a joke but it didn’t work out well. Maybe not on live TV, but nonetheless, every single person commenting on this blog, everyone reading this blog, and each one of those judges has said something silly and regretful in the past. Yes, she should apologise to him as he looked embarrassed by her comment, but she was simply commenting on what the media had said, not spitefully belittling him or being homophobic as some people are suggesting. Dannii Minogue is nothing short of a bully; her behaviour was disgraceful last night and she should be held to account. It should be EX-factor for the talentless (and let’s be honest failed) popstar, or at least send Mary Whitehouse round to beat her in to submission. Once again Danni has showed herself to be a complete fool. She should make a public apology on next weeks show. It was a pathetic attempt to humiliate the contestant, another poor judgement on her behalf. It was an amazing performance, but then how can we expect a second rate has been artist such as Danni to appreciate TRUE talent? How would she feel if on live TV a comment was made about a tabloid story on her private life? Those in glass houses should not throw stones, be careful Danni there are smarter ways to get airtime…..
The judges said he was overconfident and cocky. He is a fabulous performer and should leave the show and make it on his own. They are control freaks who are looking for someone who “doesn’t know how good they are” so that they can build them up and say “the best thing about you is that you dont know how good u are!” They have a mould and want someone to fit it. BUT DANYL KNOWS HOW GOOD HE IS AND SO HE SHOULD! why try and knock the confidence out of someone? all the best performers know they are fabulous. he is not an impressionable teenager and the appeal, for me is that he has confidence and the voice to go with it! As for the sexuality thing- its noones business and you’d think someone famous would realise what an invasion of someones privacy is.
Is this really such a big deal? It’s not as if Dannii said “you’re gay, and I hate you because of it” it was just a little jip. No matter how liberal everyone tries to sound, homophobia is everywhere and it can be a hell of a lot worse than what happened last night. It’s not like she stoned him. I can’t believe the comments from Gay men on this page. I think they need to look up on their Gay history. Gay men have been fighting for equality for years so that you can walk the streets never mind be out! I’m out and proud, but that doesn’t mean I think everyone should be. I thought Dannii made a good point – Danyl gave an interview weeks ago saying he was bi-sexual, it was all over the internet and in the papers. I presume his pupils can read, and I hope they have been brought up well enough not to care. Then Simon gets him to sing a woman’s song, which presumably prompted Dannii to make a fair point that he needn’t have changed the gender. What’s the fuss? As as for all you angry parents – I haven’t heard you complaining about Simon all but saying that Pole Dancing and Stripping were perfectly acceptable career choices. Mzybe we should be discussing the misery and exploitation that go with jobs in the sex industry, rather than whether a man who has outed himself to the papers and presumably made money from the interviews,is upset.
