Brenda Edwards Shock X-Factor Exit!
This evening’s X Factor just goes to prove that no-one is a dead cert in this competition!
After another two stunning performances from Brenda, we thought her position in the final was assured. When the results show came on, my two favourites to go were Andy Abraham or Journey South. The surprises began when Kate Thornton was handed the results card. She scanned it for a second and instantly looked shocked.
Shock number one: Andy was the first to make it through to the final. This confused everybody, and you could see Journey South wondering what the hell was going on. Predictably, Shayne Ward was the next name called. Journey South, at this point probably thinking they had no hope against the mighty Brenda.
Shock number two: Kate gives it her best bit of drama “And the final act going through to next week’s X Factor final (insert 20 minute pause here)…..Journey South.”
People in living rooms the length and breadth of Britain stared at each other in disbelief. Brenda? Gone? Cuppa?
Seriously though, I was completely gobsmacked! Brenda was such a powerhouse of talent and energy. In terms of marketability, I’d have ranked her second only to Shayne Ward, so to see her go at this stage was unbelievable! But it was the reactions immediately afterward that warmed me and even put a little lump in my throat.
Firstly, Brenda handled the eviction with so much dignity. Sharon Osbourne was in floods of tears and could barely speak when asked for her comments. Even Louis was caught weeping on camera as the tension from the competition started to show. Andy and Shayne were also visibly upset. Brenda was (reasonably) practical about the whole thing, even shaking Sharon at one point to pull herself together before going on to perform her final song.
Touchingly, as she sang her final song, Without You, you could see Brenda sensing the relevance of the lyrics and smiling about it.
A few minutes later, on the Xtra Factor, Ben Shepard was put in his place by Brenda’s husband when he was asked why he thought Brenda was axed this evening. “Well Ben, it’s because she got the least votes.” was his sharp reply!
Apparently Brenda has several offers of work from musicals, and she is now considering these. Best of luck to her – it’s an area to which she’d be well suited!

I am absolutly gutted and supprised that Brenda is out. She has been my favorite from the start. I just want to wish her all the best for the future and dont forget last years winner what was his name??
I was gutted to see Brenda leave the show this week. She has so much talent and I would love to see her live in her own show. The X Factor will not be the same now as she was the heart and soul of the competition.
I am certain she will continue to shine and hopefully we have not seen the last of her.
I thought Brenda was the biggest star that we’ve had in these shores fopr ages… we need someone like her to challenge the likes of Beyonce and Mariah Carey….
She’ll be a sad loss to the final because i personally think might of just won it…
But that SMILE, PERSONALITY AND TALENT wopn’t be in the darkness for long because the BRENDA EDWARDS STAR WILL SONN BE SHINING BRIGHTER THAN EVER BEFORE
Can’t believe it. All I can say is that I have been kind of hooked on the xfactor to my own surprise this year. One thing for sure Brenda should have not been pushed out because she has got talent, which thrives energy, commitment and the real xfactor to be successful after the show. Personally I think there have been few mistakes in the earlier episode when the Conway sisters stayed and the young lady who could sing got booted out….that is when I felt that’s not right.
This week Journey South or Andy should have gone, …good voice….. nice guys e but wrong songs. One of them will be out next week .
I reckon Dave and Brenda should double up as a team and maybe have Chico doing some dance moves in the background.
Hey never mind that’s life…Remember you don’t need to win the xfactor to become successful look at Lamar.hes done alright

Brenda has an amazing voice and personlaity. The only two that should be in the final are Brenda and Shayne. They are in a different league altogether.
Brenda different have much chance of the votes because all the cute young girls and guys will support yhe men.
Such a shame.
We haven’t heard the last of Brenda though.
i was shocked, guttered and still am. I honestly have no idea what the viewers at home were watching and it sure as hell was not the XFACTOR (its been two heavenly voices that have been booted out – Maria and Brenda. They were still suppposed to be in the competition till the end). My message to the British Diva is you dont need to win the xfactor to prove you have the talent. the whole country has already witnessed it and have got your back. You go girl and keep shinning for more blessings await. i will definately be one of the first to purchase your first album. God Bless Ya miss bubbly.
