Former X Factor judge Dannii Minogue is of course currently single, having split from her long-term partner – and father of her son Ethan – Kris Smith last year…
However, Dannii is now ready to find love again, and to have another baby. Speaking to The Sun on her return to the UK from her native Australia, first, Dannii revealed that she’s looking forward to starting work on Britain And Ireland’s Next Top Model.
She said, “X Factor is not part of my life, not now. I think it will be interesting for viewers to see me do something completely different.
“I can’t wait to get back on British TV and I’m not nervous at all.”
Dannii added, “I am just enjoying life and being a mum.
“It is the most amazing experience to be able to say to him, ‘Mum works in London, let’s jump on a plane.’
“We stopped in Abu Dhabi and he saw camels. You can’t learn that at a crèche. It’s a great experience.
“He has just taken to it. I thought he’d take a lot more adjusting to it but he has travelled since he was born.”
But she added, “Australia is home. I needed somewhere to call home. It is nice when we are here in London though, and we get time with Kylie. Auntie Kylie comes into action!”
And Dannii remarked that Ethan, who’ll be three years old in July, already loves his Aunt Kylie’s music.
She said, “Ethan listens to Kylie songs. She did a duet with Australian kids’ characters the Wiggles and he loves it.
“He has also been to a Kylie concert. He was in the front row!”
The paper adds “Despite nearing her 42nd birthday, Dannii said more children were definitely on the agenda. First up for the single star is finding a new man.”
Of that, Dannii said, “Then I’d like to have more kids, but we’re into the terrible twos with Ethan so we’ll see.
“He requires a lot of time, which is why I changed my schedule to be with him more.
“I don’t want to miss out on these moments with him.”
One of those ‘moments’ came when Ethan saw snow for the first time when he and Dannii came back to Britain.
Dannii explained, “It does feel good to be back. I feel quite like a tourist because I have arrived back with my baby boy, who is now a toddler…
“So I am seeing the city though his eyes and that is completely different for me — walking around every street corner with snowflakes coming down.
“It was the first time he had seen snow. He saw it drop on my coat, thought it was dirt and was trying to brush it off, saying, ‘Mummy, Mummy’.
“I told him it was snow and he was trying to put two and two together. He’d heard about it but had never seen it before. He was amazed!”
And finally, of joining Sky Living show Britain And Ireland’s Next Top Model, where she’ll be a judge, Dannii said, “I am very honoured to be part of Top Model. It has been one of my favourite shows to try to learn modelling tips myself.
“I can relate to what the girls are going through.
“I’m not a typical model but I have got a lot to offer because if I can do it then so can they.”
“I used to get very nervous when I was having my photo taken but weirdly, since I was pregnant, I don’t get nervous any more.”
