Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model judge Grace Woodward sacked from X Factor 2011
Simon Cowell has reportedly sacked Grace Woodward as stylist on The X Factor.
Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model judge was in charge of styling and dressing all contestants on last year’s series of the ITV show, however after many complaints were received about her wacky outfit choices, the music mogul is said to have axed the bespectacled beauty from this year’s team.
Grace, who also fronts fashion show Chick Fix on Sky Living, was responsible for Katie Waissel’s helmet, Wagner’s tight pants and Matt Cardle’s garish yellow trousers, so we’re not that surprised that Cowell found her too edgy for his hit TV show.
A show source told The Mirror:
“Simon wasn’t always a fan of Grace’s styling and they’ve decided to look for someone else. The feeling was they wanted more of a household name.”
Simon hit out at Grace’s styling skills last year, after she dressed the decidedly un-buff Matt in a white vest for one of his performances. After he sang, Cowell commented that he looked like he had just been ‘dragged from the loo’ before he went on stage.
Earlier this year, Grace confessed that she wasn’t sure she would be asked back, telling The Guardian that in 2010 she was only given two weeks notice before starting work on the live shows. She explained:
‘I have no idea. Last year I was given two weeks’ notice. X Factor was a nightmare. But an amazing nightmare. You are working with normal people, yet I’ve never heard so many people say to me, “Erm, this dress isn’t me.” I just say: “You want to look like a pop star? Listen to me.”‘
